Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and singer Helgi Jónsson is probably best known for the collaborations with his wife Tina Dico, with whom he has been touring, composing and producing for years. On the trombone, he has also worked with Sigur Rós, Damien Rice and Alexi Murdoch in the past and been featured on albums by Boy and Philipp Poisel. In Frankfurt, Jónsson fell in love with a Steinway grand piano, which he shipped off to Reykjavik without delay – to then compose his new EP Vaengjatak (Beat of a Wing). His extraordinary voice and breath-taking arrangements create vast, emotional acoustic worlds. The completed album will appear in spring 2017. And fans of Tina Disco can rejoice: the Danish superstar will also definitely be appearing as more than just background singer!
