Her melancholy, fleet-footed and dreamlike album ‘Wanderer’ guaranteed this newcomer a place in both the German and the indie charts. In 2016 the young Frankfurt singer took time out with her boyfriend for ‘Expedition Happiness’, travelling across North America for a year in a converted school bus. The warm flowing compositions on this album capture the magic of this journey, of being detached from everything and the epic breadth and depth of nature. Some of her intelligent, life-affirming, atmospheric songs are underlaid with hard percussion and arranged with drums and choruses, other folk-like melodies only require a piano, yet Mogli always manages to awaken a longing for boundless travel, sometimes gently, sometimes more powerfully.
