Choreography/Dance

She is the star of the Israeli dance scene: Sharon Eyal, born 1971 in Jerusalem, best known as dancer and resident choreographer for the world-famous Batsheva Dance Company. Gai Behar is a DJ, techno musician and fromer organiser of legendary underground raves in Tel Aviv. The two of them have been working together since 2005 and still create pieces that breathtakingly tear down the boundaries between high culture and rave.

In 2013, they founded their company L-E-V, which contains the Hebrew word for “heart“(lev). Their piece “OCD Love” is a personal matter. It deals with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), a pathological condition that interferes with love and life. Accompanied by the pulsating techno beats of DJ Ori Lichtik, the piece focuses on failed love. Like a person going to bed just as the other stands up. Something complete, but nevertheless full of holes. “OCD Love” is dedicated to exactly these holes. The piece was strongly inspired by Neil Hilbron’s slam poem about OCD, which Sharon Eyal read like a choreography.
