The Jürgen Ponto Foundation, which is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin, has created a new type of funding instrument with the first awarding of the Ponto Performance Prize. The prize honors an outstanding and innovative final project from the Hessischen Theaterakademie HTA. The prize money – EUR 25,000 – is made available to the prizewinners, who are selected by an expert jury, for the realization and performance of a new production at the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm. The Ponto Performance Prize enables young theater artists to continue to research the variety of what theater is while finding new concepts and forms of staging by examining socially relevant ties to the present.
