Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm

Theôría is a student conference, where Master’s students of the Institute for Applied Theater Studies at the Justus-Liebig-University Gießen hold talks on topics of their own choice. Gießen’s programs combine both theory and practice. While the presentation of the student’s scenic projects is well established, a format, that would take the theoretical part of the program into account, was missing. Since 2013, Theôría takes place once a year. The symposium is a different form of practice, where acquired knowledge of the students materializes in a theoretical talk instead of a theater project. The students present their research interests, ask questions, and offer insight into their way of thinking about current topics and problems. The talks are developed in a colloquium under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Gerald Siegmund.
